We we’re informed that king rooms get booked all the time with river view but do not necessarily have a balcony. Upon entering the room we realized it did not have the balcony like originally reserved and went back to the front desk. Paul checked us in and originally gave us a king room with river view (was suppose to have balcony). We did decide to book through as we got a good deal. The grounds are very pretty and the rooms are nice. We decided to stay January 12th through the 15th. Thankfully there are still hotel chains that value accountability and service. We have an upcoming trip in a few months and already booked with another vendor. If you are considering staying at an IHG property and paying with points, I would caution you and encourage you to do your research. It is now past that time frame with no response.

I was assured I would receive a return call within 48 hours. On a side note, I have reached out to IHG for their policy/position on displacing IHG members when presented with the situation I faced last week. If I am understanding correctly, I have the IHG credit card because of the 'perks' yet when I attempt to cash in on these so-called perks, I am told they are worthless. We were told by the Manager that none of the IHG properties were accepting points. We asked to be transferred to another IHG property on the Riverwalk. We asked to speak to the manager who did not have the authority or desire to help. We were transferred to a closet - seriously the smallest hotel room I've seen in my travels. Patrons paying with points are down-graded to a lesser room to allow patrons paying with cash the opportunity to have the more affluent rooms. When we questioned why, we were told that the Hotel Indigo had 'over-booked' the hotel by 4 king suites. (My spouse has a medical condition that can make moving rooms a little more of a hassle.) Our 2nd to last day, we were informed that we were being moved to another room.

We were assured that we would have the room for the week. Upon check-in, we specifically asked if we were booked in the same room (King room/balcony) for the entirety of our stay. We come from a long line of IHG members and booked a week long stay at the Hotel Indigo using points and cash. Still in shock after our recent stay at Hotel Indigo. The waitresses were just standing around. Not one person was eating in the restaurant and everyone’s drinks were empty. If they did acknowledge, then they would say ok and never go back to the customers. The staff would look at the people waiting, then just leave. Several people before us walked off because of the wait. it was worse and they were out of a lot of food. We thought it would be better the next day. The food was not very good and they got our order wrong. The restaurant in the hotel took an hour and 30 min for us to get our food after 30min if standing at the entry way with no one acknowledging our presence. There are no restaurants around the hotel. The front of the hotel is nice but the surroundings are pretty sketchy, so the walk from the parking lot is a little unsettling. The parking lot is across the street if you are lucky enough to get a spot, otherwise you have to park in the other parking lot down the street which is about a ten minute walk back to the hotel.

We were on the first floor so our room constantly smelt like food and when it didn’t smell like food, it smelt like weed. The location on the river walk was far away from everything. We stayed here one night, didn’t sleep that well, and will be staying some where else for our next get away. There was security keeping an eye on things (including one who told me to double check the close lot bc he thought there were spots)īottom line. It’s not in the safest neighborhood if you’re not on the river. There is a small lot across the street that fills up fast and a bigger lot down the road. We had breakfast at the restaurant which was just okay. From drips to dogs walking by to a garbage truck at 3 am. Neither of us slept because we heard everything going on around us. Staff at front desk was nice and all had masks etc.Ĭons: loud. Rooms were clean and bath products were nice. We went for an evening stroll and it felt safe. Take note that this is about a mile from the true touristy river walk. Pros: you can walk outside and be on the north part of the river (river reach).
